Overview:
It is crucial to remember that proper nutrition is fundamental to preventing many diseases. Nutrients are necessary to feed every cell and ensure all body systems are functioning appropriately. Testing can help clinicians and patients gain a better understanding of how nutritional imbalances may be impacting their health.
The Comprehensive Wellness Panel continues to extend the scope of the Complete Wellness option by including numerous markers related to nutrient status. This panel also incorporates homocysteine (which can be an indicator of vitamin B12, folate, and vitamin B6 deficiency), some hormone biomarkers (cortisol, estradiol, total testosterone, and bioavailable testosterone), and screens for gluten sensitivity via deaminated gliadin antibodies IgA and IgG. Additionally, this panel contains omega-3 and omega-6 essential fatty acids, which are significant indicators of anti-inflammatory and pro-inflammatory balance, as well as the nutrient Coenzyme Q10. Recent studies show that Co-Q10 supplements can significantly increase HDL-C and ApoA1 levels, even in people taking statins, and may help reduce the risk for CVD. Co-Q10 supplementation also decreases levels of inflammatory biomarkers shown to be risk factors for CVD, such as high-sensitivity C-reactive Protein.
This panel can be considered as an essential wellness panel for those over 30-years of age, in particular for those with significant emotional and oxidative stress, suspected nutrient deficiencies (e.g., zinc, magnesium, iodine, vitamin D, vitamin B12, folate, and coenzyme Q10), suspected reproductive and thyroid hormone imbalances, or concomitant health concerns and conditions.
This test includes a complimentary Functional Health Report and recommended Standard Process supplements.
